Promoted to 2nd Sgt 17 May 1862 and 1st Sgt in May 1863. Injured left leg 14 May 1864.
Admitted to Chimborazo Hospital No 3, Richmond Virgina. Transferred to Hugenot Springs 17
May 1864.
Surrendered to US Grant 11 April 1865. Was in Company I, 17th tennessee Infantry.
